Assessment of Spatial – Temporal Variations in Freshwater Pollution by Means of Water Quality Index: A Case Study of Hasana?a Stream Basin (Edirne, Turkey)

In this research, spatial – temporal variations of water quality in the fluvial components Hasana?a Stream Basin were evaluated by using Water Quality Index. Surface samples taken from seven stations selected on basin winter seasons 2019 and 2020. Eleven variables including dissolved oxygen, oxygen saturation, pH, electrical conductivity, total solids, salinity, turbidity, nitrate, nitrite, phosphate sulphate measured freshwater samples. The Index (WQI) Cluster Analysis (CA) applied to detected data order determine differences among contamination levels classify investigated locations according their similar characteristics. According data, has 1. 2. Class 3. 2020, general. results WQI, although it was determined that decreased significantly found be "A Grade Excellent" (<50) both CA, 3 statistical clusters formed they named as “less polluted zone”, “moderate zone” “more zone”.
